Once your son or daughter starts to show, there will be a lot for mom and dad (YOU!) to learn. Here’s a look at some of the different organizations you’ll have to join once junior starts to show. It’s similar to soccer, hockey and lacrosse in that there’s a national governing body (in this case the United States Equestrian Federation) that requires annual membership and dues. Then there are regional and state organizations to join. If you’re not a member of the regional or state organization, then your points don’t count. More on that later. Basically, what it means is more checks to write. Oh goodie!

There are renderings of the last several years of eq finals courses (going all the way back to the 1984 AHSA finals), explanations of how to qualify for the various finals, and results from years past. Also, great definitions and basic information.

Bigeq.com is a website for buying and selling hunters, jumpers, equitation horses and ponies.  It’s a simple, user-friendly website for both buyers and sellers of hunter/jumper horses and ponies. You can even pursue a list of upcoming horse shows and see which sale horses and ponies will be competing at the show.
